My mother-in-law is a very active middle aged woman. She rides horses and cares for them everyday. All of a sudden she has had pain in her upper middle back. It continued...to the point now...that her upper right side of her body went numb. Her hand is also stiff, and bending her fingers is somewhat hard...because of the stiffness. There also is a tingly feeling sometimes in her fingers.
The pain starts from her upper middle back, and shoots down to the right side of her. It hurts to move her arm. She has to hold it in a certain position.
Few months ago, she fell off a horse...and thought she hurt her back. That pain went away though.
She can move her neck fine...but she feels pressure in the middle of her upper back.
Her right side is week. Is there any back injuries that would cause this?
Any medical information would be greatly appreciated.
