Re: mild disc desiccation

Desiccation means that the disc material which is normally gelatinous in nature is drying up. When this happens the disc height is compromised (loss of disc space) eventually bringing the discs closer together. This is a degenerative process and is known as DDD or degenerative disc disease which I'm sorry to say will eventually lead to degenerative joint disease (aka osteoarthritis). Mild desiccation just means it's a little dried up and there is probably minimal loss of disc space.
