Re: right leg pain, lower back pain

: Dr.Bunting,
: I was recently diagnosed with bulging disks :T12, L2,L3,and L4. My orthopedic physician found these when I went in with additional knee problems. My symptoms then and now are: Low back pain usually at the end of the day, but the biggest problem has been it feels like I am sitting on a rock at my right ischial tuberosity with pain radiating down my right leg to the sole of my foot. I have had two spinal blocks(epidural) with some relief, I have had physicial therapy with no success with relief of pain, and a cortisone injection in the area with 2-3 days of relief. I have been told it may be SI joint inflammation, sciatic nerve pinched or ischial bursitis. The orthopedic doctor referred me to his associate who performed the above but at the same time told me I may need to see a neurosurgeon it was my choice to either be conservative or have surgery. At present the pain presents on a scale of 5-6. I would like to continue to be conservative and wanted to know if a Chiropractor is my next best answer as I would like to prevent surgery if possible. I am 1 1/2 weeks post op hysterectomy. When would it be advisable to seek a chiropractor? This problem has existed for 8 months. Thank you for any helpful information.
