Long Tailbone

As was stated in an earlier post:

"My tailbone does noy curve inward as it should, instead it points directly downward, so I can feel it completely, (even see it). It's always been this way so I have to be careful not to bang it. I assumed I would someday have it removed or cut down, but have heard the recovery time for tailbone removal can be up to a year. I've also heard that removal is not recommended. I have no pain at all (unless I hit it) but it's not easy to sit in certain positions.
Any help would be great.
Thanks

This sounds exactly like me. Any advice? I can see it easily (pretty ugly and I am self-conscious about it) and I can feel it easily too. What can I do? I would really like to have it either bent correctly, if possible, or shortened. It is very uncomfortable and does hurt when I sit. I have ALWAYS had this problem. I have to sit just right and need to avoid hard surfaces. My mom even mentioned that when I was a baby she noticed it. What to do? Thanks for any help.
