This doens't help you...but I have the exact same thing. I went to a local doctor (not orthopedic) and he said put heat on it..it went away for a month and now is back again just the way you describe it. Am online trying to find out what it is ..if you hear anything, please let me know.And if I do, I'll email. Many thanks.
