I have been having lower back spasms for over 2 months. I dont have a problem at work where I am sitting in an ergonomically correct position but at home when I am relaxed (on the couch or laying on my bed) and I go to a standing position. This is when the spasms start and will usually go on and on intermitently throughout the evening until I go to sleep. I have had xrays and told I have some disk degeneration but nothing that requires surgery, etc. I have gone through physical therapy, chiropractors and even acupuncture. The orthopedic surgeon suggested Quinine for the spasms and told me they should eventually stop. This does not seem like an acceptable diagnosis but do I have a choice? Anyone have any suggestions or experience taking Quinine? Thanks, Lori
