Shoulder blade pain, tingling/numb arm and hands

Hello,

I have had on-going pain and a hard knot under my right shoulder blade for a few months. It started slowly and has increased to daily over the past three weeks, to the point of constant tingling/numb arm and hand. My arm and hand go completely numb while I am sleeping. The pain is now starting on my left side, too.

I don't have insurance so can't afford to get it checked. I have scheduled a massage, but wonder if it could be more serious.

The pain has switched from left to right side over the past few years. There's also a loud "crunchy" sound when I rotate my shoulder. I used to experience a lot of neck pain and a chiropracter said that I have scar-tissue on my left side, but now my right side is giving me the most trouble.

Any advice or help is greatly appreciated - I am in agony!
