I would see a doctor and have it x-rayed. It's possible you fractured one of the carpal bones but probably unlikely considering it was an air filled bag. Another thing to consider is a subluxation or dislocation of one of the carpal bones. An x-ray will help rule either out. Likely you probably sprained it. Ice it and see a chiropractor or you family doctor to determine the extent of the injury.
