Left back shoulder/rib pain.

I have been going to a wonderful chiro for a few years now. I have a problem in my back left shoulder that she always works on. She works on a table, and calls it the "Thompson Technique". Two weeks ago, I started having intense upper front rib pain extending around to the back, in the bra area. Nothing helps, not even ibuprofen. I went to a regular doctor and they diagnosed me with costcochondritis and gave me naproxen. It has settled the inflammation down a bit, but still hurts, and it seems to flare up at no particular time. My question is, is this actually caused by the back left shoulder? Do I need to go back to my chiro, and have her work on that? I am at my wits end and don't know what to do. Also, the doctor did a chest xray, and nothing was abnormal. She has ruled out heart and lung problems. I have had no surgeries, am normally healthy.
