Re: torn plantar fascia?

I am a 24 year old football player and high hurdler/high jumper. I have a slightly torn plantar fascia, wcich causes pain when I run. My club physiotherapist advises me to have the ligament cut to relieve the pain and to then play. The ligament does not need to be whole. I have high arches and evidently the blood flow to my foot is restricted. They also said the injury was inevitable due to my athletics and football use. Your comments would be most appreciated.
