Re: broken heel bone recovery

hey gang,
we are building a house and when it came time to put on the roof a friend from church was going to help me. i showed up before he did and got on the roof to look around and when i started down the ladder i relized just how gravity works(right over the concrete porch).i was taken to the er and given morphin, that was a joke, they ran xrays and found out that i had shattered my heel. it took a week and a half for the sweeling to go down enough to do surgery, and when i dropped my foot below my heart the pain was so great that i begged them to remove my foot.
when the surgery was over i had and will always have 11 screws and 3 plates.
i have been in a walking boot for 2 weeks and the doctor said that i might have the boot for another 3 to 4 weeks.
tonight i finally started put weight on it and i can stand the pain for the most part, i just want to get back to my life!!!!.
so all in all it could take up to 6 months to a year for the swelling to go down and start feeling right again.
this is someting that i never want to got through again,my poor wife has to do everthing. GOD BLESS HER.
spidey
p.s it happend 4/28/04, my email adress was too long, sorry
