metatarsal pain

I,ve worn orthotics for 8 yeras now.In March this year I began to get a lot of pain in the ball of my foot and to me it appeared that a callus had formed. One chiroptist treated me for same and another said it was a virrucua. It was hot and very painful at intervals and anti inflammatorys were prescribed gy my GP. An orthotics opinion was not to have chiropody any more as the natural pad was being removed too much. 6 months later I am no further on. It can prevent me from walking and doing any weight bearing hobbies. Can you help?
