I recently sliced a deep gash in my Achilles tendon are about three weeks ago. I received eight stitches for the diagonal wound. After the cut healed, I have developed a large hard mass on the area eher the tendon and heel meet. It hurts and makes a clicking sound when I walk certain ways. It is tender to the touch and nearly impossible to wear sneakers and shoes for the very fact that it hurts! I can'r jog or do many fo the things I normally do....Any ideas what this might be??
The emergency room at the hospital didn't do any x-rays when it happened, maybe I actually damaged the tendon, and they didn't check to see if that was the case???
