A couple of concerns that I have

I had ACL reconstruction done to my left knee 10 days ago. My doctor also repaired some cartilage damage that occurred during the injury. It's been aobut 10 days later and the swelling hasn't gone down much. Is this normal? I haven't been on my feet very much so I don't think I have been contributing to the swelling. My other question is that during the surgery, the surgeon lodged a piece of metal wire in my tibia. Not sure if it happened while replacing the ACL or while he was repairing the cartilage. It's about an inch long and he told me that he left it there rather than remove it. Is this going to cause any problems in the future?

The BioSkin Hinged Knee Skin is the lightest hinge available. The bicentric aluminum alloy hinge is offset to eliminate pressure at the joint line.
