Re: Marathon training and toe/toenail pain

: I am in week 6 of an 18 week training program for a marathon. My toenails (specifically, the second toe of each foot) have started to become discolored, get thicker, and develop blood underneath them. The large toe on my left foot has developed a bruise beneath the nail and continues to get larger and more painful...pushing the toenail out. My running shoes are not too small, or too big -- they seem to fit well.

ANY LUCK FINDING THE ANSWER? NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT. I TOO AM SUFFERING THE SAME AGONIZING PAIN IN TWO TOES AND DO NOT WANT TO STOP RUNNING!

: What can I do to prevent this from happening? How do I treat these problems? Stopping my training program is not an option. Please advise? Thanks!
