SWOLLEN SECOND TOE

PAIN STARTED IN SECOND TOE ON LEFT FOOT ABOUT 10 WEEKS AGO, TOE BECAME INFLAMED, SWOLLEN, RED, STIFF AND MORE PAINFUL WITHIN PAST 3 WEEKS. PODIATRIST SAYS IT IS BECAUSE OF THE PRESSURE ON IT FROM BUNION ON LEFT FOOT. BUNION AREA IS NOT SWOLLEN OR PAINFUL THOUGH, JUST SECOND TOE - ALL THE JOINTS IN IT. TOOK NSAIDS FOR 4 WEEKS AND STOPPED TAKING THEM BECAUSE IT DID NOT IMPROVE THE SWELLING, ETC. ALSO USING ORTHOTICS FOR 3 WEEKS NOW. PLEASE HELP. THANKS!
