Re: children's flat feet

: are their any altenatives for children's arch supports rather than $350 custom made insoles?

Yes... First of all I would suggest staying away from any plastic devices unless the child has severe pronation problems. For children with mild pronation problems I would recommend a Lynco with medial heel posting. Lyncos are cost effective for a growing child because they will last about a year and only cost $59.95 plus S/H. If you are interested in a Lynco, they can be purchased from www.footwearconsultants.com or give us a call at (214)357-3535. With a presciption, a certified pedorthist can make a soft custom orthotic for any where from $150 - $295.
