Polio

My aunt suffered with Polio as a child, and as a result has one leg that is shorter than the other. She just moved here, and needs a replacement pair badly. I just don't know where to start. She used to go to a doctor, get a prescription, and get the shoes made by hand. please advise. I know we have to start at a doctor, but I don't know what type of doctor....we live in the DC metro area.
