Liz Frank Injury

My daughter fell off of her scooter on Sunday. By Tuesday we noticed a know on the top of her right foot towards the toes and between the big toe and second toe. An ER Doctor examined her and thought it a possible Liz Franc injury. What is this and what does it mean for her recovery? She is at a summer sports camp and a gymnast. Dr. put on a splint with crutched and follow up tomorrow with an Orthopedic spesensoredt. We have plans all summer involving physical activity. Does surgury normally occur? If not, how many weeks of recovery with splint and crutches? Please advise. Thank you!
