pronation of my 3 year-old's feet

My family and I are concerned about my son's feet which have a dropped arch and pronate (like mine and my father's). I have bunions now on both feet which i believe is due to pronation. My son's pediatrician tells me not to worry about it now (she thinks we should wait until he's 5 or 6 before we consider corrective interventions), but my family and I aren't so sure this is sage advise. I would appreciate your feedback. Thank you!
