bones spurs on top of foot

I have been told that I have bone spurs on top of my foot(where you would tie a shoes) by my foot DR. I'm having cramps and pain at night where these are, What can i use to help. I am being woke up several times at night. Also is there any way to remove the since main artery and nerve is close to my spurs. I've had surgery to get rid of heel spurs and has done well thanks
