Re: shin splint

I have just started running Track for school about a week ago. I have been running relays, and jumping hurdles. I thought it was only a minor injury, since i play softball and i am active almost everyday of the week. Then i noticed that it was not just minor, and i needed help quick, so i asked my track coaches. They said to ice it and soak in a warm bath. Unfortunatly that didn't work and the pain did not get better, in fact it seemed to get worse. So, I need advice on wht you think I should do about my shin splint.

Helps strengthen the kneecap mechanism by applying pressure on the tendon above the kneecap as well. This tends to reduce the forces of the quadriceps on the patella tendon and erosion of the under surface of the kneecap due to a possible misalignment of the quadriceps (Q-angle).
