Sprained Ankle

I had a bad sprain back in June. It was swollen and bruised for over a month and I couldnt put weight on it for weeks. They doctors told me it wasnt broken and all i needed was an air splint (supposedly it was supposed to "support" the ankle while still allowing it to move). However, its the middle of November and I still have pain, swelling, and limited mobility. I can be sitting still and barely move my ankle and it pops and starts swelling. My doctor told me I could start running again but when I do it swells and becomes extremely painful. I know it can take months to completely recover from a bad sprain but is this normal?

Ankle braces go on fast and the athlete does the applying so there is no waiting in line to be taped. Valuable trainer and coach time is saved when taping is eliminated. In an independent sudy of athletes Swede-O ankle braces were chosen as most comfortable.
