Achilles tendon rupture

I am 33 years old and I had a complete rupture of my achilles tendon playing basketball. I am 5 weeks post surgery and in my third cast. Each time I get a new cast they move my foot up to stretch the tendon. I am now at a lateral state and I was told next time I will get a walking boot with a 10 degree cam.

I have several questions and I am just looking for generalized answers because I know each injury is different and my doctor will guide me, BUT... :)

once I get the walking cast should I expect any difficulty or pain walking?

will the injury ever heal completely?

what is the likelihood that I will re-injure the achilles?

I have been hopping around on one foot for about a month now. I am worried that I am going to damage the other achilles now, am I being hyper-sensitive?

Is there a good link out there that gives a rough idea of what levels of rehab I can expect at how many weeks of recovery?

thank you very much for any information you can provide.
