Re: itchy legs

I just found this website today and I am so relieved to know I'm not alone! I've been trying to explain this phenomenon for years and nobody understood. The best way I could explain is a very intense burning, through the skin type of itch. Scratching does not make it go away, the only way is to cease jogging/running. Also it seems like over the years, the itchy sensation starts much sooner (w/in first 5 mins of jogging) and the intensity of the itch has increased. Probably related to age and not as fit as before. Some say to keep going and the itch will eventually go away - but how, when the itch is so intense and burning that one couldn't possibly ignore it? I saw some suggestions on this post and will try them - Benadryl and Claritin (which Claritin would that be?). I'd love to be able to jog & run because it's a great way to stay fit & burn fat, but at my current level of discomfort it won't be possible. Otherwise I will stick with the elliptical trainer & stairmaster, as I have never had this problem using those.
