Comments:: Dear Sir/Madam, : While walking quietly on the street I felt a terrible pain in the right leg and the feeling that something like a string has broken inside my muscle. : I went to my GP who diagnosed 'tear of gastrocnemius' : but could not explain the cause of this strange happening. : After a few days blood was clotting and the leg got swollen. : He recommended an ultrasound scan, but did not prescribe any treatment. I would like to find out about the cause and the treatment of this torn muscle. : Do I need to improve my diet in any way ? Could this be a cause of the muscle being torn ? : I am 50 years old and a rather fit male, although I do not practise any particular sport. : Your reply would be highly appreciated. : Thanks in advance : C.
