Cracking ankle!!!!!!!Cant Sleep!!!!!!!!

I have had this odd pain in my ankle and up the out side of my calf. If i roll my ankle as if to stretch it it will crack. No matter how many time I do it it keeps cracking. It is now effecting my sleep and the pain is geting worse any one have any idea what it is.
