Index finger physical therapy

Last March I severly cut the tip of my index finger, from the bottom up through the bone but not the top skin. Surgery required removing the finger joint nearest the nail and reattaching the tip. Everything is healing nicely, I even have somewhat of a finernail growing. My question is about movement at the next joint down toward the palm but closest to the tip. My doctor has instructed me to gradually force the finger to bend at the undamaged joint to flex the tendons. I have only managered to get the finger to bend about 30 degrees from straight toward the palm. Are there any exercises or devices I can use to increase this range? Thank You for you assistance.

The Achillotrain has a viscoelastic heel-wedge to raise the heel for relief of Achilles tendon. A silicone insert on the back of the Achillotrain leaves tendon pressure-free and provides intermittent compression for the reduction of swelling and edema.
