numbness- lower leg & foot

Recently had MRI showed degenerative changes L2 to S1. 2 dics prolapsed 1 missing and 1 disc pressing on nerve but not enough to operate. 2 days later pain moved from lower back, side and groin to left sensoredock, down the leg pain easier. Early hours of morning left sensoredock went into spasm caused excrutiating pain. Pain better with knee to chest. Admit to A & E for 3 days (neuro and Orthopods refused to see me). Was seen by physio kneaded the sensoredock and pressed very hard. I was able to walk after that but I have been left with numbness down the left side of my lower left leg and around to the front of my foot. No pain, foot appears to be weak and sometimes unstable walking what is and what should I do?
