calf pain due to running

Injury has been re-ocurring over the past 6 years. After 3 miles of running I get severe pain in my calf muscle and must stop running. Recovery time has varied from 6 weeks to 12 months. Pain has always been in th left calf but 2 months ago it gravitated to the right calf. I have been throught, MRI's, deep massage, stretching, hydration, calcium/vitaminD supplements, etc. No one seems to know the cause of the pain. I am able to do all kinds of activities except run. I have been running for 35 years. I have just booked a Chiropractor appointment to see if this injury could be related somehow to the back. Any suggestions or articles you might recomment would be appreciated.
