Re: SI joint pain

: My OS diagnosed me 2 months ago with SI problems (lumbarization) and chronic ligament inflammation/irritation/laxity. I have been given injections in my lower back/hip region, but the pain remains the same. It's located in the SIjoint area and goes down to my L hip. It can be very mild, but when I sit down or rotate my spine (while bending) it's like someone sticks a knife into my back/hip. Standing or walking/running is painless.

: I am on paracetamol and I am booked in 4 another injection in 2 weeks. The product my OS injects is supposed to thighten the ligaments, it hurts real bad and I am not able to do much activity for a few days. I probably should rest but I can't, OS needs me at work and I am studyng (management) @ the same time, so the only time I can lie down is at night...

: I am looking for advice, are these symptoms are normal for this condition, what can I do to relief the pain (exercises or PT?), what are my future prospectives and what should I NOT do?

: I am 26, I can take a lot of pain but I just can't take this anymore. I don't mean to whine, I just want to be as painfree as possible.

: TIA

: CGLW

How about asking your doc it you can go see a PT. They can show you some stablizing exercises and positions that are better for you. Have you ever tried electrical stimulation? That is also something a PT can try with you. Check with your doctor. Good luck. Mya
