broken collar bone

i reentlt broke my collar bone. the hospital said i did a good job off it! they gave me a sling, and pain medication. i was told to contact my doctor in a week or so... i am hearing from everyone i talk to that they should of set my bone? should i see an orth doctor? i am a firefighter, and want to heal strong and properly. i also want to get back to work asap. please tell me what you think on these matters, and anything else on boken collar bone treatment/post treatment. thank you! larry
