Hi, this stretch for shin splints was kindly provided for me from another forum, I've been using it some success."Shin splints (tibialis posterior muscle):
I can't find this stretch on the internet or in any books, but a podiatrist in Melbourne once showed it to me, and it has been great, but it does feel and look a little uncoordinated.
To stretch the right leg: sit down and bring your right leg up to your chest (left leg wherever it's comfortable). This is the hard bit - reach your left hand under your right knee and bring your left fingers back around the inside of your right foot so that the foot is being pulled out to the right. With your right hand, pull your right foot up towards you. The combination of pulling with your right hand and left hand pull the foot both out to the side and up towards you which targets the tibialis posterior muscle, which runs down inside the tibial bone.
For the left leg, your right hand must reach under your left leg, and do the same as mentioned. This can be a difficult stretch, but if persevere with it, you should notice a difference."
Hope this helps
