Broken Fibula fall/doctor's screw-up

On Feb. 5th I slipped in the coffee area of an Am/Pm that I work at. Iwas told by my boss that that if I went to the emergency room hospital on the weekend I might have to pay out of my own pocket. So I waited till Mon. working on my painful leg..until I saw the company doctor on Mon. They took an x-ray of my leg that was in extreme pain when I walked ....and said it was NOT broken. They sent me home with aspirin and a cane. For three days I worked at a "sit down" job...went for a follow up late Weds. The doctor then told me she had made a mistake ...I did have a broken Fibula. She put it in a moon cast and scheduled me with a spesensoredt. The spesensoredt she said likes to put broken fibs in a hard cast with crutches. He did NOT do this nor did he mention a hard cast.
I'm having extreme pain now behind my left knee(which is where the pain originated at) and I wonder if I was treated medically correct.
