Calf problem

One of big husband's calves looks deformed. By that I mean that it looks smaller than the other one. A chiropractor at the gym said that it is probably a torn tendon. He doesn't have any pain and the functioning of the leg and all of that is normal. When he does leg exercises with weights it doesn't bother him. I know that he needs to see a doctor and have an MRI, but what are the possibilities that it could be?
