Re: possible shine splints

: Hi, I am a top level competitive bowler. I've recently felt a pull and then later on pain in the lower left leg. Calf/Soleus muscle area. There was no pain walking, bending, small jogging or any other day to day activity. The pain was there when I planted my left leg to release the bowling ball. The pain was on the sides of the leg. I recently went to a Orthopedic Spesensoredt who is affiliated with Notre Dame Athletics and he poked and squeezed and pushed and pulled and couldn't get any pain out of me. (it's been 5 weeks since I blew it out) initial injury was 3 months prior. Do you think it's shine splints as he says? I had this same injury 2 years ago. It went away after 2 months and I was fine for 2 years till this recent injury. He said it could be chronic. If it re-occurs, ice and alleve it. I'm going to start bowling again in a week which will be the 4-6 week rest period. Thanks for any comments you may have.

: P.S. Are the Bio Skin calf support products any good while I'm competing?

: Take care,
: roy
