Nursing of patient with lower leg fracture

I want to know for how long does a person who has had a cast for broken tibia and fibula in right leg not change his own trousers and underwear?

For how long will he not be able to move at all from his bed and will have to use bed pan for urinal and defecation?

Does it make a difference in the abover answers if the cast has failed to heal?
